Soma Side Effects

Soma is a drug used to treat pain caused by muscle injury, inlcuding strains, spasms, and sprains. It is used as a short-term treatment drug, and soma users are generally required to rest, complete physical therapy, and other forms of treatment, usually including some type of anti-inflammatory drug. Oral soma is taken by mouth, and it can be taken with or without food. The drug is usually taken four times daily, but that depends on the user's medical condition. The dosage is based on the user's specific medical condition and personal response to the drug. Soma should only be taken as directed by a doctor.

Side Effects
As with most drugs, soma may cause side effects. Some of these effects are more severe than others. Patients react to soma in different ways, so some side effects might be present in a patient while other side effects never occur in that particular patient. The following is a list of the most common side effects:
-dizziness
-headache
-drowsiness
-fast heart rate
-flushing of the face
-low blood pressure

In extremely rare cases, some patients have experienced a strong reaction to the medication. This abnormal reaction can result in any or all of the following: weakness, shakiness, unstable/unsteady movement, changes in vision, noticeable pupil widening, and mood changes. Some patients reported an inability to move their legs and arms. In extremely rare cases, patients have been known to have an allergic reaction to the drug. This allergic reaction may cause itching, swelling, rash, difficulty breathing, and dizziness.

The side effects listed above are not all inclusive. Soma users should be sure to contact their physician if they notice any physical changes in their body or any unusual changes in behavior while taking soma.

Withdrawal
Patients who suddenly stop taking soma may experience some withdrawal symptoms. Most often, these withdrawal symptoms occur after a patient has taken high dosages of soma regularly over an extended period of time. These symptoms may include:
-stomach cramps
-difficulty sleeping
-nausea
-headache

Addiction
In some rare cases, soma has been known to be habit-forming. For this reason, soma users should never increase their dosage, and they should never take it for an extended period of time unless instructed to do so by their physician. Adhering to these guidelines will decrease the chance of becoming addicted to the medicine.
